AIMFOCAL D is available in various forms; your doctor will decide the dose and dosage form. The primary forms of AIMFOCAL D available in tablet. The tablet disintegrates within a minute. Swallow the whole with a glass of water. You can take AIMFOCAL D with or without food at regular intervals, as prescribed by the doctor. Take AIMFOCAL D with or without food.

Quick tips for AIMFOCAL D Tablet:

If you think that your diet fails to meet the daily dose of calcium, consult your doctor before you decide on taking supplements.

Do not take iron and calcium supplements together, as the absorption of calcium may get hindered.

It is not advised in people suffering from tissue calcification, malabsorption, kidney problems, or blood cancer.

To avoid overdosing on these supplements, inform your doctor if you are taking any other product containing Vitamin D or calcium along with AIMFOCAL D tablets.

Do not take these supplements if you are allergic to Vitamin D, calcium, or any other ingredients present in this medicine.

In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s almost time for the next dose, skip the dose you missed and take your next dose at the scheduled time.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Calcium can decrease the absorption of other drugs such as estramustine, levothyroxine, and quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin) bisphosphonates (e.g., alendronate), tetracycline antibiotics (e.g., doxycycline, minocycline).

Food Interaction

Calcium products should not be taken within 2 hr of eating foods that are rich in oxalic acid (e.g. spinach and rhubarb) and phytic acid (e.g. whole cereals) may reduce calcium absorption.

Disease Interaction

There are 5 disease interactions with calcium and vitamin D which includes Hypercalcemia, Renal Dysfunction, Arrhythmia, Electrolyte Imbalance and Hepatobiliary Dysfunction.

Safety information

When using AIMFOCAL D tablets do not use large doses other vitamins provided you consult with your doctor.

In the case of emergency, dental care and surgery intimate your doctor regarding your medications on calcium carbonate and vitamin D tablets.

When taken AIMFOCAL D tablets for a longer period, have a serum calcium blood test to monitor your progress and to detect any side effects.

Give extreme attention when given to children, only use by the consultation of a pediatrician.

If taken in overdose immediately seek emergency help if you have any of the symptoms including loss of consciousness, sluggishness, and confusion.
